Life is a pile of trouble…
It is easy to think that I have it difficult or that others have an easier life than I do. Often the adversary whispers in my ear that life is not fair or my challenges are too difficult. During these times I need a reality check. I need to remember that there are others that have challenges as well. This poem is one of my checks. It reminds me to lose myself in the service of others. Some reasons I’m grateful for infertility
As Shirly and I have gone through the labyrinth and challenges of infertility, we have encountered many wonderful souls over the years who have provided us with a measure of comfort and solace. When I shared a link to my blog post on our misadventures with foster adoption on Facebook, one kind sister responded, “Good article. thanks for letting us into your world. sorry for all the grief.”
Well, I hadn’t thought of it in those terms. I mean, yes, there’s definitely grief and pain, but there’s also a degree of peace in it as well. Because you know what? There are blessings to be had from being childless.
Have you considered foster adoption?
I got the following message through the website today:
Hi, I am LDS and have adopted and came across your page. Have you considered foster care, i.e. fostering to adopt? I have adopted two newborns in two years, one has returned to a family member, and I’m not sure about baby #4’s future… Whether the parenting is foster or forever, it’s the kind of amazing that is impossible to put into words.
